Short Biography

After completing her mathematics degree at the Technical University of Munich, Laura-Luisa Velikonja first learned the craft of data science at Alexander Thamm GmbH. After participating in the TEFDataChallenge 2016, she moved to Telefónica Germany, where she now works as Senior Data Scientist in the Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence department. There she leads various projects for internal customers like HR, Finance and Network Technology.

In 2019 Laura voluntarily founded the Telefonica internal community TelefónicaConnects to promote gender diversity. Whether artificial intelligence can lead to greater gender equality or more diversity in general, and if so, how, are questions she finds exciting and is working on in the context of TelefónicaConnects.
