The challenge of multi-national and multi-business enterprises is that the data landscape is large, complex and intransparent. That in turn means that it is very effort intense and cumbersome for data experts and data citizens to understand what data is available and find the right data for the individual need. This situation is a limitation to harness the full potential value of available data in an organization. In Swiss Re we started to build a strategic data intelligence platform to solve this challenge. It will provide an overview of existing data sets and their contextual information: who produces and consumes the data? which business case use the data already today? where is the data physically stored? what are the terms and conditions of data usage?

His background is in information management and he had multiple data expert and data leadership roles in different countries throughout his career. Currently he is leading the product area for data corpus and data foundation at Swiss Re.
Christian Pich, Product Owner Data Discoery & Acquisition | Swiss Re
Christian is a data management and data analytics expert as well as a data leader. Throughout his career he held different expert roles as risk modeller and IT consultant and he is currently leading the development of Swiss Re’s Data Discovery & Acquisition product. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Konstanz and worked for some time at Microsoft Research and as postdoc researcher at ETH Zurich.
