Europe prepares to face to the future digitally strengthened. Data, Analytics and AI create added value in companies. Sometimes it is difficult for us to advance development at the speed required by global competition. To become more flexible and faster, the tech industry needs growth and fe-/male power. However, the proportion of female employees in the tech industry is only around 20%. This panel will discuss why it is important to promote women and diversity, what has already been done in the last years and what still needs to be done.
Divya Bokaria, Head of Data @ Zattoo
Divya is heading the Data and Analytics department at Zattoo, a tv streaming platform. She stumbled upon the data world by chance 8 years ago and fell in love with how much advantage data can give to businesses. She has setup data warehouses, reporting and complex data algorithms in multiple companies and helped businesses make better data based decisions to grow their top and bottom line. She is passionate about enhancing the data culture in companies as with the ubiquity of data, it is important that all functions know how to use its power to advance the business.
Sarah Stemmler, Data Coach @ synsugar
As a Data Coach, Sarah Stemmler guides data teams to high performance. In her coaching, she combines data science expertise with agile principles and modern team development practices. As a former data scientist, Sarah knows about the challenges of developing data science applications. In her experience, the main success factor is a competent data team that is working collaboratively and efficiently. Sarah studied Business Administration before she started her career in tech. Therefore, she often acts as a translator between business leaders and tech talents with the aim of reducing the knowledge gap and improving the project outcomes.
Dr. Tina Klüwer, Member of the Board @ German AI Association
Dr. Tina Klüwer is a recognized expert, manager and technical ambassador for the topic of Artificial Intelligence and its implementation in business. Currently, she leads the AI project of Science & Startups, the network of startup services of the Berlin universities and the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Before starting the project, she was founder and CEO of parlamind GmbH, a company for automation in customer service through AI and language processing. After the successful exit of the business, she led its four sister companies as technical director. Previously she worked as a researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Bonn University and Freie Universität Berlin, Germany for over ten years. She received her PhD thesis in computational linguistics from Saarland University. Tina Klüwer is board member of the German KI Bundesverband (Federal Association for AI, www.ki-verband.de), as well as part of the coordination group for AI Standardization by Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI) and DIN. She was also an expert member of the German Bundestag’s two-year Enquete Commission on Artificial Intelligence.
Sheila Beladinejad, President @ Women in AI & Robotics Germany e.V.
Sheila is the founder and CEO of O Canada Tech & President of Women in AI & Robotics.
As a software engineer with a degree in Computer Science & Industrial Engineering and over 20 years of experience in technology, she has worked on major initiatives in the telecommunication industry responsible for launching new products and services, on the technical side from end-to-end, such as 4G migration, RCS solution, and Billing software.
Additionally, Sheila has expertise in conducting technical due diligence during the Merger and Acquisition process for investors. She helps Private Equity firms and Venture Capitalists evaluate the software side of the target companies of interest and provide risk mitigation assessments, often including a post-closure technical roadmap. She has worked on multi-million acquisitions in Europe, Canada, and the United States, evaluating and assessing the software architecture, Artificial Intelligence components, IT infrastructure, and agility of the target companies.
Furthermore, Sheila works with C-level executives to define and execute strategic plans for Digital Transformation, Cloud Migration, next-gen Architecture, and adoption of Artificial Intelligence. Her experience spans many industries such as Telecom, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Education. In recent years I have worked in Industry 4.0 related projects focusing on IoT and Artificial Intelligence.
As the President of the Women in AI & Robotics association, she is on the mission to increase the representation of women, the untapped talent, in AI & Robotics by reaching as many women as possible and encouraging them to learn and pursue a career in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics through our education, mentorship and startup accelerator programs.
