Making data science work – A travelogue..

Introducing a modern, secure data science platform and building the capability to produce actionable insights within a large enterprise, while complying with a set of strict regulations and IT-Governance, challenges both the underlying data science platform as well as the organization supporting it. In this talk we will present from which point Zürcher Kantonalbank started its journey into the world of data science,  how we integrated the data science platform Domino Datalab into the bank’s system landscape in order to support a growing data science community with variety of use cases. We will end the talk with what improvements still need to be made to make our data science platform more effective and what the future holds for us.

An analytics and BI expert Himadri has spent almost two decades establishing business intelligence, visual analytics solutions and data science platforms and managed the optimization of organizational processes along with the shift in mindset necessary to support these initiatives. As a product owner, along with a team of experts he is responsible to deliver a bank wide data science platform able to support a broad range of use cases from client analytics to risk management. Previously he has worked as product owner for visual analytics and self-service BI, as a data analyst in regulatory projects and has led large scale SAP BW implementations.
